EMV approval of payment terminals has been mandatory in Denmark since July 2008.

Cale Access AB in cooperation with Hypercom and PBS in Denmark, has devised a new EMV chip solution for the Danish market. During autumn 2008, a pilot installation with EMV-approved chip card terminals took place in Odense and Vejle for the private parking company Europark AS. The pilot was successful and resulted in Cale being awarded EMV certification for an MP 104 EMV chip solution.

In February 2009, Cale delivered an additional batch of terminals to Europark AS. This time for a new area in Copenhagen.

All terminals are connected to Cale WebOffice via GPRS.
